Now I Understood That People Whom We Called Gods & Goddesses Take Drugs: Sherlyn Chopra On B-Town Drug Controversy
The Narcotics Control Bureau has been digging deeper in the alleged drugs case as the investigation has taken a turn to nab the kingpins in Bollywood. Bollywood actresses Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and Sara Ali Khan have been summoned by the agency to appear for interrogation for their involvement in procurement and consumption of drugs.
Actress Sherlyn Chopra, who recently commented on Deepika Padukone’s viral ‘Repeat after me’ phrase, has unapologetically applauded NCB’s work till now and called Bollywood celebs “devi devta” whose real faces are now being shown by the agency. In her interview, she shared an incident of attending a Kolkata Knight Riders party in Kolkata where she claimed to have seen wives of Bollywood stars and cricketers “snorting white powder” in the bathroom.
In her interview with ABP Live, she said, “Itne saali se hum ye maante aa rahe hai. Humare divas hai, ye devi devta hai aisa hum maan rahe the. Aaj samanjh mei aa gaya un devi devta ki asliyat kya hai. Humare devi devta maal lete hain. Maal kitni baat lete hain, ye NCB ko ab pata chalega. Batayenge NCB ke paas ja kar kya kya maal lete hain, kitni baar lete hain, kab kab lete hain, sab pata chal jaega.”[Translation: For so many years we have considered them as divas as gods and goddesses. Today, it is known that our gods and goddesses take drugs. Now, they will have to explain to the NCB, how, when, where they take drugs.]
A few Whatsapp chats that went viral recently, have been linked to Deepika Padukone asking for “maal.” The chats showed that a person, ‘D,’ asking someone called ‘K’ for drugs and netizens have linked D to Deepika, which is how her name cropped up in the investigation. Besides this, ‘K’ is reportedly being said to be Karishma, Deepika’s manager, who is also from the talent agency KWAN.
