Despite being unmarried, they adopted the kids and are loving them wholeheartedly. Let’s have a look at these real-life heroes:
Sushmita Sen
Sushmita Sen is one of the kindest hearted beauty of the industry. Much before the concept of adoption was popularized, she adopted a baby girl at the age of 24! The name of her first daughter Renee and had to face a lot of legal difficulties but that didn’t stop the actress. But, this was not enough for her; she wanted Renee to have company. This made her fight for the custody of another girl child, Alisah. After adopting Alisah, Sushmita said:
“I wanted to be a mother all over again. The earlier law was that if you have adopted a girl as your first baby, you can’t adopt another girl child. And I wanted a girl. Thankfully, the High Court changed the ruling. You can’t imagine how happy I was after hearing that.”
Raveena Tandon
The gorgeous actress broke the stereotypes by adopting two girls when she was just 21-year-old! She was one of the most celebrated actresses of Bollywood when she took the step to embrace motherhood. She adopted 2 girls Chhaya (8yrs) and Pooja (11yrs) from her distant cousin because of some problem going on out of which, Pooja recently got married.
Karan Johar
Famous Bollywood director Karan Johar has become the single parent of twins — a girl and a boy. Though they were not adopted but were born through surrogacy. Johar named his son Yash – after his father, and his daughter Roohi – rearranged from his mother’s name Hiroo. The twins were born at Masrani Hospital in Andheri (West) in February 2017.
Subhash Ghai
Meghna Ghai is the biological daughter of his younger brother but was adopted and raised by Subhash and his wife Rehana. She got her education in London and is currently running her production school Whistling Woods and is married to Rahul Puri. In fact, Meghna once revealed in an interview:
“I was fortunate to be adopted. I felt very secure with them (the Ghai’s) and they loved me.”
Salim Khan
Salim Khan in spite of having 3 sons, Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, and Sohail Khan, he still adopted a daughter named Arpita. And she is loved by every member of the house and was given all the luxury one can ever ask for. It is rumored that they found Arpita on a footpath and decided to adopt her since her biological mother had died. Hats off to the bold decision made by Salim and Salma Khan! Arpita got married to Ayush who made his Bollywood debut with the movie LoveYatri and is a proud mother of baby Ahil.
Sunny Leone and Daniel Weber
Karenjit Kaur Vohra, known by her stage name Sunny Leone, is an actress and model. She is one of the most adorable actresses who may have negatively made headlines but proved to have a golden heart by adopting a daughter. They named the girl Nisha and adopted her when she was just 21 months old and cared and raised her well enough to be called as her proud parents.
Mithun Chakraborty
Mithun adopted Dishani when she was a kid. Apparently, it was said that he found the girl dumped in the garbage but Mithun adopted and raised her like his daughter despite having three sons: Mahaakshay (Mimoh), Ushmey, and Namashi.
Preity Zinta
Preity has done a remarkable job by adopting 34 orphan girls on her 34th birthday in 2009, from an orphanage in Rishikesh. Now she is the sole guardian of all the girls and She provides all the resources to educate them and makes sure to visit them at least twice a year.

Sameer Soni and Neelam Kothari both adopted baby Ahana after two years of their marriage. The couple also said that they both wanted a girl, no matter adopted or biological. Perhaps, it seems they already had their decision of adopting.
Gurmeet Choudhary and Debina Bonnerjee
They played the roles of Siya-Ram on-screen and soon tied the knot afterward to become one in real life. The cutesy couple tied the knot on February 15, 2011. The two of them surprised everyone when they announced that they will be adopting two children, and they did on March 15, 2017.
