A sharpshooter apparently belonging to Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been arrested by Faridabad Police for planning to assassinate superstar Salman Khan. Reportedly this sharpshooter had even carried a recce of the ‘Bharat’ actor’s Apartment in Mumbai.

According to a report in the Indian Express, the Faridabad police while investigating the murder of a Faridabad resident allegedly involving members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang found out that they were also plotting to murder Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

The accused, 27-year-old Rahul alias Sanga alias Baba alias Sunni was arrested from Uttarakhand on August 15.  The report further quoted Rajesh Duggal, DCP (Headquarters) as, “During questioning, it has emerged that Rahul had travelled to Mumbai in January to conduct a recce for the murder of Salman Khan. He went to the actor’s house in Bandra for the purpose and stayed in the area for two days. He conducted this recce at the behest of Bishnoi and Sampat Nehra, another member of the gang, who had also conducted a recce to plan for the same crime before he was arrested in June 2018.”

Apparently, both Rahul and Nehra were plotting to kill Salman at the orders of Bishnoi. However, owing to the Coronavirus outbreak their plans were foiled. According to the police, Salman’s alleged involvement in the Blackbuck Case (1998) in Jodhpur was the reason why the Bishnoi was planning to assassinate the actor. The actor was sentenced to five-years imprisonment in the case and currently, he is out on bail.

Faridabad Police further said that Rahul has been produced in court and remanded in police custody for further questioning.
