Why Aamir Khan Doesn’t Attend Any Award Shows
To acknowledge the work of the actors, directors and other people award functions are organized. Earlier, there used to be a lesser number of such functions and yet were valuable to every actor. But now there are many award functions. Some actors say that they miss the days when there was just one award function which was the “Filmfare Awards” and the whole industry used to wait for it. It is quite exciting to see performances by the stars and distribution of awards which they accept with full excitement.
Bollywood’s legendary actor Aamir Khan has been in the industry for nearly three decades and is well known for being a perfectionist because of his hard work. And, It’s a well-known fact that Aamir Khan and award shows don’t go together!!
Aamir never attends any award functions and doesn’t accept awards. But, have you ever wondered why he is so disinterested? Like, why he chooses to be away from all this? Aamir Khan is a talented actor and his movies are always so good, then WHY? Well, you’ll be surprised to know that Shahrukh Khan is the reason behind it. We don’t blame SRK though, but it all started in the year 1991 when Aamir was nominated for the Best Actor category of Filmfare for his movie ‘Dil,’ that same year actor Sunny Deol was nominated for that same award for the movie ‘Ghayal’. Aamir had very high hopes for his performance and hoped it would get him the ‘Best Actor Award’ at the Filmfare. However, the award went to Sunny Deol. Then a series of such events happened when he lost the first one to Anil Kapoor for ‘Beta’, and then In 1996, Aamir Khan was upset that he didn’t win the best actor award for Rangeela at Filmfare Awards. During that time, it was Shahrukh Khan who won the award for his movie “Dilwale Dulhania Leh Jayenge.” and “Baazigar”. This left Aamir very angry and he thus vowed never go to any award function or accept any award.
