makers of Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb are also planning to release the film on the OTT platform, mostly Disney+Hostar.
A source close to Mid-Day has revealed that director, Raghava Lawrence is already in talks with actor Akshay Kumar and he also feels that producers shouldn’t bear any kind of losses and hence might just release on the OTT platform.
“Akshay, director Raghava Lawrence and the producers are discussing the offer. There’s a lot of post-production work left on the movie, including editing, background music, mixing and VFX. Since the team is working from home, the process is taking longer than usual. However, the makers are hoping to have the film ready by June. Although currently, the lockdown is on till May 3, theatres may continue to remain closed to ensure social distancing. In such a scenario, the team may consider having a direct-to-web release,” said the source.
Navratri is about bowing to the inner goddess and celebrating your limitless strength. On this auspicious occasion,I am sharing with you my look as Laxmmi.A character I am both excited and nervous about… but then life begins at the end of our comfort zone…isn’t it? #LaxmmiBomb pic.twitter.com/TmL9U1OXdk— Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) October 3, 2019
The source further added, “Akshay wants to make sure none of the invested parties makes losses, and that the movie reaches a wide audience. While Disney+Hotstar ensures a worldwide reach, making the film available across small towns in India will be a concern for them.”
