There was a time when people are the fan of the Altaf Raja’s songs. In every home and car, his songs used to buzz. Altaf was born on October 11, 1964, in Nagpur. He started his career when he was just 18 years old. In the year 1997, Venus gave him a break. His song Tum To Thehare Pardesi became a sensation overnight.

But if you notice, now he is away from the limelight and it’s been quite long years. At the age of 18, after completing his music training Altaf went on to win many awards. He also showed people a new version of Qawwali. 

How Altaf got into music?

Altaf pointed to the old tradition of fathers singing the Azaan into their newborn’s ears. Altaf’s father was a Qawwali singer himself, and Altaf says that hearing his father sing as an infant ignited his passion for music.

He was last heard in the year 2010 when he gave his voice for the film ‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’. But according to the reports, he also gave his voice in the 2013 film ‘Ghanchakkar’. Now he is 54 years old and is working to make a comeback with Tum To Thehre Pardesi part 2. Well, nowadays be it London or Lucknow, Altaf attends poetry recitals everywhere.
