Juhi Chawla started off her career as a model. In the year 1984, after being crowned Miss India, she made her film debut in the movie ‘Sultanat’ and ever since there has been no looking back.

She then went on to act in ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ opposite Aamir Khan, which received rave reviews and earned her the recognition of the film fraternity. She was nominated for Best Actress at the Filmfare Awards and was awarded Lux New Face of the Year, marking her arrival as a star.

Juhi Chawla was required to fly to South Africa for her film ‘Karobar’ directed by Rakesh Roshan, who allegedly introduced Juhi to his dear friend, industrialist Jay Mehta.

Jay was a married then, but the two became good friends. However, after the sudden demise of Jay’s wife in a plane crash, the two came closer as Juhi was very supportive and helped him through the this difficult time.

The couple had to put their wedding plans on hold when Juhi’s mom Mona Kapoor passed away in a car crash. The two shared a very special bond and the incident left the actress shaken. Jay was always by her side when her mother and her brother Bobby passed away

Although the couple have had to face a lot of ups and downs, their relationship has only grown stronger with time and the couple have been happily married for almost two decades with two children, Jhanvi and Arjun
