Karisma Kapoor was born on June 25, 1974, in Mumbai. She debuted in the Bollywood just at age 17. She was the granddaughter of showman Raj Kapoor and daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita. She debuted in the Bollywood with film Prem Qaidi in 1991.

Her co-star in the film was South’s famous actor Harish. Although the film was a flop. After that, Karisma’s 13 films got released and all of them were flops. Due to a line of superflop films she got disheartened and used to cry every night. Meanwhile, Dharmendra was planning to launch his son Bobby Deol. He wanted to cast Karisma opposite him but due to Karisma’s streak of giving flops, he changed his mind. Later, Bobby debuted with Twinkle Khanna.

When Karisma stepped in Bollywood, her dressing sense was poor. many times, media trolled her for poor dressing sense and over make-up. Some people trolled her by calling her Lady Randhir Kapoor.

After 4 years of her debut, the film Raja Babu made Karisma a star. It got released in 1994. After this film’s success, directors started noticing her. In 1996, her film Raja Hindustani made her superstar. She also got an award of Filmfare Best Actress for this film. She got a national award for best-supporting actress for her film Dil Toh Pagal Hai.

Now she is away from the limelight. She was last seen in the film Dangerous Ishaq. She got married to businessman Sanjay Kapur in 2003 and got divorced in 2016. She has two children from her marriage – a son and a daughter. These days she is dating businessman Sandeep Toshniwal.
