“We shot this picture a year ago at a home decor store. Rekha came with us to do the recce and finalised the venue with us. She wanted to do her own styling and so wanted to explore the venue and the theme to pick the best outfits possible. Rekha is someone who has an elaborate wardrobe and she is best at recycling her clothes. She will pick something which is 10-15 years old from her wardrobe, mix-match with something new and come up with a surprisingly fresh look. Not only did she did her own hair, makeup and styling, but also shared her views in setting up the right frame for the shoot. She added and subtracted a few props from the frame to get the best picture possible.”



Jayesh Sheth: Ravishingly Vintage

“This picture was shot in 2008 when Rekha and I travelled to Udaipur for a magazine shoot. Somebody mentioned that Maharaja Gaj Singh has a collection of vintage cars at his palace and we should check it out. So, Rekha and I went there to see the collection. She had knowledge of each and every vintage car there. I saw a red Rolls-Royce and told Rekha that we should definitely do a shoot with this car. I asked her to do be dressed in an international look instead of wearing something India. I did not want to shoot in the garage where the car was parked. However I was told that the Maharaja is very particular about his cars and does not allow to take it out. The next day I was surprised to see Rekha dressed in a Tux, a crisp white shirt and black trousers. She did this sans a stylist and any hair or makeup artists. She also took me out and I was shocked to see the vintage car at the spot where I wanted it to be for the shoot. The red hot Rolls-Royce coupled with the diva was quite a killer combo.”
